    Capital Area Workforce Development Board (CAWDB) is a public-private partnership that focuses on economic development by ensuring the local workforce has the skills, training and education to meet the needs of local employers.

    The mission of the Capital Area Workforce Development Board is to create a highly effective workforce system. This system will provide employers with productive, skilled workers and offer citizens training and employment opportunities that promote job satisfaction and economic stability.

    The board strengthens Wake and Johnston county businesses by ensuring that existing employees and new hires have the skills, training, and education to meet their needs.

    Successful workforce planning is an active, ongoing, dynamic process that must be repeated and adjusted often. Our strategic planning process is all-inclusive and involves collaboration and information sharing. Our strategic goals:
